The DevOps/SRE TODAY Blog
I’m a frequent blogger on DevOps and SRE-related topics over on Dev.to, of which I’ve had several blog posts go viral and have been picked as one of the “top 7 weekly bloggers” in 2021. If you like reading about technical-related topics in an easy-to-understand fashion, check out my blog: Mike Levan – DEV Community 👩💻👨💻
Videos
I love creating written content, but I also enjoy being in front of the camera and teaching from an auditory perspective. I feel that it gives me an opportunity to show emotion, smile, and for everyone to see how excited I am to teach. You can find my YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/clouddevengineering
Kubernetes Unpacked Podcast
I am the host of the Kubernetes Unpacked podcast on the Packet Pushers network. You can find the most recent episodes below:
Kubernetes Quickstart Environments
One thing I’ve noticed time and time again is engineers want to get started with Kubernetes, but are unsure where to begin. Because of that, I created a Kubernetes Quickstart Environments open-source repo on GitHub that contains:
- Creating cloud Kubernetes environments
- Creating on-prem Kubernetes environments
and a lot more! Check it out at the following link: https://github.com/AdminTurnedDevOps/Kubernetes-Quickstart-Environments
DevOps The Hard Way (AWS Edition)
I get asked a lot of questions daily that typically sound something like this:
- How do I get into DevOps?
- What type of projects can I do to get into DevOps?
- How can I get hands-on?
DevOps The Hard Way, an open-source project I created is meant to help anyone answer these questions. The project has gained a ton of traction on GitHub and people are really finding it game-changing when they’re trying to break into DevOps.
Published Books
I’ve written books ranging from software development to DevOps, teaching engineers and technicians how to implement code, the cloud, monitoring, observability, security, CICD, and more.

Research
I’ve started to dive into research from a DevOps and Computer Science perspective. I love the ability to go deep on a topic, and research allows me to do that. You can see my research contributions below.
